What a Summer it has been for Javier Gomez! A silver medal at the London Summer Games, 2nd place at ITU Stockholm one week ago, and this weekend he won the Hy-Vee 5150 U.S. Championships. Javi dominated a very strong field in scorching-hot weather conditions beating Olympic gold medalist, Alistair Brownlee, and defending champion Greg Bennett. Once again, Javi wore the Zoot Ultra Kiawe running shoe, a shoe he helped develop for his podium performances.

Kelly Williamson, better known for her dominance in the 70.3 distance, took home 6th place in an incredible competitive field on Saturday at the Hy-Vee 5150 U.S. Championships. In one week she will be competing at Ironman 70.3 World Championships and following that she will be racing Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

Javier Gomez Wins Silver in London!

Zoot is proud to announce it’s first Olympic medal awarded to Javier Gomez of Spain who took silver in the Olympic Triathlon that took place in London’s Hyde Park on August 7th. Gomez won the silver wearing the Prophet WetZoot in the swim and the new Kiawe running shoe from Zoot in the run, a shoe specifically designed for him for the London games.

Zoot product development has been working tirelessly over the last 2 years with Gomez and Jordan Rapp to develop a race shoe worthy of world class athletes, with the specific goal of being on the podium in London. After 8 months fine tuning the shoe ranging from stance, weight, support, lacing, fit and feel, the Kiawe was born and was the shoe of choice for not only the Silver medalist but also two additional athletes from Brazil and Korea who participated in the Olympic triathlon.
